Position Overview: The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in our company's financial management and strategic planning. This position requires a unique combination of skills in management accounting, financial analysis, and a deep understanding of the events industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performance-based financial reporting, budget management, cost control, pricing strategies, and providing financial insights to support the company's growth and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present financial statements and performance-based reports for internal and external stakeholders. Develop, implement, and monitor budgetary systems to ensure accurate financial planning and control. Conduct cost analysis and manage cost control initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Evaluate pricing strategies to ensure competitive market positioning and optimal financial returns. Provide financial forecasting and strategic governance advice to support long-term business planning. Perform asset valuation to assist in investment decisions and capital management. Manage risk assessments and provide advice on financial risk management strategies. Prepare and review financial documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Support the implementation of benchmarking and quality improvement initiatives. Skills and Experience Required: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (comparable to an Australian Bachelor's Degree). Membership or eligibility for membership with professional accounting bodies such as Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), CPA Australia. At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in management accounting or a similar financial role, with a focus on cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting. Strong proficiency in accounting systems and processes. Advanced skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Knowledge of business law, including commercial law and corporations law. Strong analytical skills with experience in quantitative methods and economics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with management and stakeholders. Understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the events industry. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
