Title: Handa Volunteer Assistant Ranger Status: Full time, Monday 17th March to Saturday 6th September (approximately 25 weeks) Location: Handa Island, Sutherland (free accommodation provided) Closing date: 5pm, Friday 31st January 2025 Be part of a small close-knit team of Handa staff and volunteers delivering visitor and conservation management on Handa Island.
The Volunteer Assistant Ranger role is wide-ranging and will cover practical work, visitor engagement, monitoring, and other tasks necessary to support our work on the island.
Placements on Handa provide the successful applicant with valuable experience and networking opportunities, with many volunteers subsequently moving into paid opportunities within the sector.
What we are looking for: Ability to handle the rigours of living and working in close proximity with others over a long period.
Candidates who "wear well" with others and can work as a team.
Sense of humour and positive outlook.
