Lawyer or Associate - Workers' Compensation Statutory Insurance QLD | Brisbane

At Hall & Wilcox we have a pre-eminent workers' compensation practice and we are one of the only firms to act for all statutory schemes across Australia. Our Statutory Insurance team in Queensland is recognised as a leader in the specialised area of recovery under the Queensland workers' compensation scheme. We have been advising most of Australia's well-known self-insurers for many years.
The successful candidate will work closely with a team of industry leading partners and lawyers on primarily workers' compensation matters, as well as some product liability and public liability matters.
You will be involved in a variety of matters including:
Acting for insured employers on behalf of WorkCover Queensland in workers' compensation matters; Acting for state, national and international insurers, self-insurers, and Australian and international corporations; Drafting codes of practice and occupational health and safety policies for large organisations; Product liability litigation and matters under the Australian Consumer Law; Acting in institutional conduct abuse claims; and Other personal injury and general liability claims as they arise. About you You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Between 3 and 4 years of post-admission experience from a defendant insurance law firm; Experience working with a WorkCover Qld panel law firm will be highly regarded; Experience in managing workers' compensation or personal injury claims from end-to-end; Experience in the day-to-day management of files, and in running matters through court proceedings; A proactive nature and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and The ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
