This opportunity is part time 4 days per week until December 2025.
The Technician, Hair and Beauty provides technical and logistical support to the relevant areas of the Hair and Beauty department.
This support includes: Establish and maintain a current stock inventory for all course materials Ensure all tools and equipment are in a state of readiness for use by employees and students, including session set up and close down Support the teaching and business support employees in their roles through the provision of technical assistance The Technician is responsible for the warehousing, monitoring and maintenance of consumables and minor equipment, and provision of technical support to the above teaching areas.
They will liaise with managers, coordinators, teachers and students from these units; suppliers; community groups; and employees of BHI at all levels.
The Technician, Hair and Beauty is a position in the Design area of the Faculty of Creative, Business and Technology.
Success in the position will result in a high performing and engaged team, student achievement and improved education and employment outcomes, compliance and quality education and the development of opportunities to grow market share.
Salary for this role is pro rata PACCT 3.2 $61,707 plus superannuation.
About You: Relevant technical qualification to AQF level 3 or relevant experience in providing technical support to arts programs Certificate III in Hairdressing, Certificate III in Beauty Service, Diploma of Beauty Therapy or experience in a similar role A Level 2 First Aid qualification or a willingness to undertake this training Demonstrated ability to provide regular and comprehensive asset and stock control and reporting, including equipment maintenance reporting Finance One experience using blanket orders, purchase orders, invoices and minimising MECs Ability to accurately estimate resource requirements for tasks Maintains formal records required for resource management Demonstrated experience in warehousing, equipment and facility maintenance, particularly in an education setting Empathy and Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated high level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range and levels of disabilities, diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of common team goals About Us: We are proud to be a leading education provider with a strong reputation for delivering high quality educational outcomes.
