What Will You Be Working On? As a Gym Instructor, you'll play a key role in creating an energetic, inclusive, and safe environment that inspires our members to achieve their fitness goals.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Welcoming members with a smile, promoting a sense of community, and providing personalised guidance to help them thrive in their fitness journeys.Conducting fitness assessments, tailoring workout plans to suit a variety of needs and fitness levels, and empowering members to succeed through one-on-one and small group sessions.Supervising the gym floor, maintaining a safe environment, and responding promptly and professionally to any emergencies or first-aid situations.Sharing your passion for fitness by actively promoting our range of services, programs, and memberships to encourage a healthier lifestyle for all.Supporting member retention by engaging with clients through follow-ups and interactions, maintaining the gym's cleanliness, reporting equipment issues, and ensuring occupational health and safety standards are met.Participating in ongoing training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay ahead in the fitness industry.Rostered shifts will range from 2 to 5 hours and include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends on a rotational basis. AFAC is a busy place, so to ensure that you keep up to date with operations, we require you to work a minimum of three shifts per week across our opening hours. Whether you're an early riser or a night owl, there's a place for you in our vibrant team.
What are we looking for: Certificate IV in Health and Fitness or equivalent qualifications.A current AUSactive Certificate and Provide First Aid Certificate.Experience supervising a gym, designing fitness programs, and delivering small group training sessions.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and supportive team.Bonus points if you hold a 'C' Class Driver's License!We are a values-led organisation that believes in: CareAre Better, TogetherLearn & GrowJoining our team means embracing a culture of support, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
