Our Client, a Tier 1 Iron Ore Producer, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Approvals Advisor .
This role will be primarily based at their Perth location working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with site trips required on an ad hoc basis. This role is a 6 month contract.
About the Role
Are you a proactive, detail-oriented professional with experience in project approvals and stakeholder management? We are looking for an Approvals Advisor to join our clients Portfolio Management team within Sustaining Capital's Studies & Programs division. Reporting to the Principal Portfolio Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and securing necessary approvals for Sustaining Capital projects, focusing on rail, heavy mine equipment (HME), and facilities.
In this role, you will work closely with project leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure all project requirements are met efficiently and align with both governance standards and project timelines. This role will be processing internal approvals only.
Key Responsibilities Conduct initial project screenings to streamline the approvals process, identifying potential issues, solutions, and timelines. Advise Project Leads on Approvals Requests (AR) to achieve the best holistic solutions for each project. Utilise GIS for desktop reviews and create project-specific polygons. Conduct early site reconnaissance alongside project leads and construction advisors. Manage relationships with stakeholders and SMEs to coordinate approvals processes. Travel to project sites to assist in approvals resolution, meeting with key stakeholders, including Traditional Owners and government representatives. Organize and facilitate project and subject meetings, coordinating approvals activities and resolving AR issues as they arise. Submit and manage project-specific ARs and communicate any changes in approval requirements or timelines. Support project planning and conduct in-field AR audits through regular site visits. What You'll Bring Knowledge of ARCS and approvals processes; established relationships with Rail SMEs are highly valued. A background in an AR SME discipline (environment, heritage, bio, tenure, etc.), with environmental experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build relationships and facilitate project approvals. Flexibility to travel to various project sites and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving abilities to navigate complex situations and effectively plan for the future. Familiarity with rail network and rail/facilities construction is an asset. Current 'C' class driver's license. This role requires all candidates to be Perth based and to hold full working rights. Relocation support and sponsorship is not available.
