Purpose of the Position
The right person will be responsible for working closely with key staff to facilitate and supervise the workshop team objectives, maintain the company fleet to safe and roadworthy standards, whilst meeting ongoing maintenance management certification programs.
You will be responsible for ensuring that company equipment is maintained, serviced, and kept in a roadworthy state for safe operation.
Responsibilities & Duties Responsible for managing and monitoring work rosters and staff allocations. Liaise with drivers and diagnose concerns with equipment prior to service intervals or routine maintenance. Assist with on-road breakdown and coordination of external service providers. Monitor and manage parts inventory levels and budgetary expenditures. Shared responsibilities for financial metrics within the department. Maintain business relationships internally and externally with stakeholders. Manage work, health, safety, and environmental standards for the department. Foster and promote a positive workplace culture to develop and motivate employees. Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy working environment. Chair start-up and toolbox meetings with the staff. Monitor and manage bulk fuel orders. Liaise with vehicle builders to aid in PBS design and routes. Qualifications Essential Qualifications Certificate IV in Diesel Mechanical, or Certificate III Automotive Diesel Engine Technology. Certificate IV Leadership and Management (desired). Essential Experience Work Experience & Skills 3 years previous experience within a similar role and industry knowledge preferred but not essential. Leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle regulations and standards. Strong written and verbal communication. Strong computer skills – ability to use Microsoft and cloud-based systems. Sound like you?
