We help ensure Telstra sets the right strategy and is delivering for our customers, our people and our shareholders.About the roleThe Group Tax Compliance Manager contributes to the tax management of the Telstra Group as a member of the Taxation Leadership Team.
You will lead an onshore and offshore tax compliance team to deliver accurate and timely tax payments and lodgements in Australia, tax accounting and Pillar 2 calculations and lodgements.
The role is location agnostic with flexible working arrangements available including remote working and no mandated days in the office.The role with usReporting directly to the Head of Tax, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation of tax strategy and management of tax risks at Telstra.As a driven, experienced, and hands-on Group Tax Compliance Manager, you will:Deliver Telstra's Australian tax compliance obligations, including income tax and FBT payments and returnsDeliver Telstra's tax-related financial reporting, including tax effect accounting and associated tax disclosures for Telstra's statutory accountsDeliver Telstra's tax transparency commitments including input into the Annual Report and Sustainability ReportDeliver tax budgets, plans and forecastsDrive business optimisation by identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements to minimise tax risk exposure and increase operational efficiency of tax processesAssist with delivery of tax assurance reviews, audits, and disputesAssist with embedding the tax risk governance framework across Telstra (and its subsidiaries) to ensure compliance with domestic statutory and regulatory tax obligations and requirementsAssist with the preparation of tax updates to the Audit & Risk Committee and other key stakeholdersAbout youWhat you need to succeed:Hold a degree in commerce (accounting) and CA/CPA qualificationSolid demonstrated experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, mid-tier firm or industry environmentHave a strong background in managing a tax compliance team or functionDeep tax effect accounting knowledge and experienceAn aptitude for tax technology and/or a demonstrated history of optimising business processes and driving operational efficiencies will be looked upon favourably.If this opportunity sounds like a perfect fit for you, we encourage you to apply!We fully embrace flexibility and choice at Telstra, and it is as unique as you.
