By creating job opportunities and stimulating the local economy, we are shaping a vibrant future for Darwin.Join us in redefining excellence and contributing to the growth of our community.WHO YOU AREDemonstrates strong analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting and understanding applicable industrial agreements, legislation, regulations, and awards, focusing on payroll data analytics and problem-solving.Highly organised with excellent time management skills, ensuring tasks are prioritised and deadlines are met.Experienced in the application of relevant awards, legislations, EBAs, internal policies, and processes.Demonstrates effective communication abilities, facilitating clear interactions with stakeholders at all levels.Quickly establishes rapport with stakeholders across the organisation, fostering collaboration and support.Shows a strong ability to absorb and adapt to new technologies, enhancing efficiency and productivity.Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, WageEasy, HumanForce, and Jobpac, enabling efficient payroll and data management.WHAT YOU'LL DOProcess high volume end-to-end payroll for employees across different industries such as Construction, Hospitality and Real Estate.Complete payroll checks related to timesheets, leave entitlements, overtime, Time in Lieu, and other related matters while assisting team members with inquiries regarding back pay requests, attendance updates, and bonuses.Coordinate with the People and Culture team for checks on contracts of new team members, promotions, changes in employment terms, and terminations, and manage payroll disbursements for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles.Oversee PAYG reconciliations, ensure timely payments, maintain and update Time In Lieu (TIL) records, and process, reconcile, and assist the team with all inter-company transactions as needed.Calculate and report Payroll Tax in compliance with applicable regulations, review and reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts, and undertake monthly and quarterly payment summary reconciliations.Conduct superannuation payments in accordance with legal requirements, process mandated child support payments, and claim workers' compensation reimbursements from the insurer while following up on payments.Generate monthly Employee Turnover and Leave Accrual reports for monitoring workforce trends and provide data for monthly management reporting.Prepare and submit reports for the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), execute end-of-financial-year (EOFY) payroll reconciliation procedures, and reconcile EOFY leave provisions while preparing associated work papers.Administer the time and attendance system (HumanForce), manage ongoing enhancements, and maintain a robust employee record system, updating for new appointments, changes in employment terms, and terminations.Complete required filings and documentation in a timely manner, handle ad-hoc requests to support the payroll function and broader HR objectives and assist team members and management with other financial tasks as needed during operations.WHAT'S NEXTIf you are interested in this position, please submit your CV and cover letter which describes who you are and addresses the criteria detailed above.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
