This role is a Group Payroll Officer responsible for processing high volume end-to-end payroll for employees across different industries such as Construction, Hospitality and Real Estate. The role requires strong working experience in the application of relevant awards, legislations, EBAs, internal policies, and processes. A sound understanding of payroll compliance and reporting will be highly preferred.RequirementsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:EssentialInterpretation and understanding of applicable industrial agreements, legislations, regulations and awards.Payroll data analytics and problem-solving skills.Strong oral and written communication skills, organisation and time management.Absorption and learning acumen for new technologies.Ability to quickly develop relationship with all stakeholders across the group.Proficiency In Microsoft Office Suite, WageEasy, Human Force and Jobpac.Payroll ProcessingComplete payroll checks related to timesheets, leave entitlements, over time, Time in Lieu, and other related matters.Assist team members with enquiries such as but not limited to back pay request, attendance updates, and bonus.Co-ordinate checks with People and Culture team for contracts of new team members, promotions, changes in terms of employment and terminations.Complete payroll disbursements for Weekly, Fortnightly, & Monthly payroll.Manage PAYG reconciliations and timely payments.Maintain and update Time In Lieu (TIL) records for relevant entities.Process, reconcile and assist team for all inter-company transactions as and when required.Monthly TasksCalculate and report Payroll Tax as required by applicable regulations.Review and reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts including making the necessary adjustments.Undertake monthly/quarterly payment summary reconciliation.Conduct superannuation payments in accordance with legal requirements.Process child support payments as mandated.Claim workers' compensation reimbursements from the insurer & follow up for payments as required.Generate monthly Employee Turnover reports to monitor workforce trends.Produce Leave Accrual reports for distribution to relevant parties.Generating and providing data for monthly management reporting.Annual / EOFY Reporting & AuditPrepare and submit reports for the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).Execute end-of-financial-year (EOFY) payroll reconciliation procedures.Reconcile EOFY leave provisions and prepare associated work papers.Assist in auditing processes as required.Other DutiesAdminister the time and attendance system (HumanForce) and its ongoing enhancements.Maintain a robust documented employee record system with updates for new appointments, any change in terms of employment and/or entitlements and terminations.Complete required filings and documentation in a timely manner.Handle ad-hoc requests as needed to support the payroll function and broader HR objectives.Other Miscellaneous TasksAs and when required, assist team, peers and management in other financial tasks during the course of operations.
