J G King Homes, Victoria's largest builder of Steel Frame homes, is seeking an energetic & highly motivated individual to join our team. This role can be based out of Melbourne, but onsite as required.
The WHS manager is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving the Work Health & Safety (WHS) systems across all business sites. This role ensures compliance with Victorian WHS laws and regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and drives strategic initiatives to minimize risks. The WHS Manager will also lead and facilitate safety audits, training programs, and incident reporting while maintaining strong communication with senior leadership.
Leading a team of WHS representatives across Victoria to drive safety initiatives and ensure business compliance in all areas.
A proactive approach to identifying risk and ensuring safety is maintained.
Skills; To contribute to the development and implementation of an effective and efficient safety management system.Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of Safety Management System, Safety Management Plan, and associated programs.To provide an effective and high-quality Work Health and Safety (WHS).To contribute towards minimising the costs through effective management of workers compensation and claims and procedures, and rehabilitation programmes.To prepare and submit reports including recommendations to the Executive Team on safety management, WHS To provide leadership and support to all WHS representatives across the business.Drive continuous improvement of safety processes, tools, and systems.Experience & Qualifications A demonstrated ability to understand and interpret the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 & Regs 2022, & a basic understanding of Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981. Significant experience in WHS management including conducting investigations and resolving WHS issues within the workplace.Experience with the preparation and delivery of safety and health related training.Experience in Workers Compensation claims management and return to work programs.Well-developed interpersonal and conflict management skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Demonstrated experience with end-to-end incident reporting and undertaking investigations Highly developed analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to develop strategies and recommendations.Undertake a high-level quality of document writing in line with current legislation, codes, and AS/NZUnderstanding of risk management principles and techniquesAssist in the development and monitoring of Work Health and Safety documentationWell-developed group facilitation and presentation skills.Proficient in WH&S software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Minimum 5 years of experience managing WHS systems in the construction or residential building industryWillingness to travel across regional and metro locations in Victoria as required. Valid driver's license.Valid Safety Induction CardCurrent First Aid CertificateBachelor's degree in WHS, Risk Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
