Opportunity for a Group Leader Acquisition to join the Crown Lands team who manage and sustain some of the most iconic and diverse land across NSW.Ongoing full-time opportunity.Office location - Newcastle office or location flexible across NSW by negotiation.Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super.What's in it for me? The role Crown Lands is currently seeking to appoint a Group Leader Acquisitions to lead and coordinate a professional and technical team and other internal and external stakeholders involved in the acquisition and vesting of Crown land that promotes public interest and creates significant economic benefit to the State. Projects may include supporting major and State Significant renewable energy and/or infrastructure projects.
As the Group Leader Acquisitions, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Lead a multi-skilled team in discussions, negotiations, and contractual documentation to support Acquiring Authorities in the acquisition of Crown land for state and other infrastructure programs, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, Acts, and Treasurer's Directions.Coordinate with legal to manage and deliver vesting and escheats for Crown Lands.Lead the management and assessment of requests that come in from other parts of the Department or other NSW Government agencies requiring information and/or action from Crown Lands to coordinate responses with internal SMEs and negotiate action and outcomes while considering internal and external impacts.What you will bring to the role Strong communication skills including negotiation, presentation, dispute resolution, and influencing skills.Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.Essential Requirements Tertiary qualifications in either Business, Commerce, Law, Property, Conveyancing and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience.Current drivers' licence and willingness to travel.About us The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) aims to create vibrant, productive spaces and precincts; manage lands, assets and property effectively; and deliver affordable and diverse housing.
