About the role We are seeking a Group Junior Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic team and provide essential financial analysis and reporting to support senior and regional management in improving business performance. In this role, you will assist with retail and commercial analysis, inventory management, and the budgeting and forecasting processes to drive profitability. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various teams to deliver actionable insights and optimise business decisions. What will you do? Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, providing key insights to senior management.Monitor and report on stock performance, including inactive stock sell-through and stock-on-hand reports.Ensure accurate and timely updates on promotional pricing, discounts, and catalogue check reports.Collaborate with the Marketing Department to align promotional calendars and ensure effective communication across teams.Set up and maintain open-to-buy (OTB) reports for buyers and store sales budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.Assist in stock management, including recalls, rebalancing, and reporting outstanding special orders.Contribute to the budgeting process by gathering inputs, validating data, and supporting the preparation of financial forecasts.Maintain and prepare various reports, including monthly YOY comparisons, discount reports, and price change reports.What skills and experience do you need? 2+ years of experience in retail or a multi-site inventory-based business, with a strong understanding of commercial analysis.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL, Macros, SAP, and financial modelling techniques.Experience using Business Intelligence systems to extract, analyse, and present data.CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable, or equivalent financial certification.Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Proven ability to effectively communicate complex data and insights to senior stakeholders.Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to challenge existing processes and recommend improvements.This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the largest jewellery retailer in Australia.
