About the team
Led by the Global Chief Financial Officer, CTM's Group Finance team is a small, globally focused team responsible for managing financial accounting, tax, treasury, and financial planning & analysis at a global group level.

Embedded within CTM's Group Finance team, the CTM Group Tax Team has a global remit to manage the tax affairs of the Group.
Led by the Global Head of Tax, and mirroring CTM's core value propositions to external clients, the tax team has developed an industry leading, highly innovative, technology-driven tax operating model.

About the role
As the Group Indirect Tax Manager within CTM's Group Tax team, there will be a long runway of professional career development and opportunities ahead of you.
Initially, you will help the business identify and manage indirect tax risks by leveraging your technical knowledge to provide high-quality, timely advice to both group and regional finance teams.
Reporting to the Global Head of Tax you will also help manage the Group's global indirect tax compliance obligations.
CTM currently operates in >20 tax jurisdictions globally and with approximately 70% of the Group's business offshore, this role offers the opportunity to gain significant exposure to international tax matters, in addition to local Australian ASX-listed tax requirements.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of indirect tax returns, including VAT, GST, and other transaction taxes for all jurisdictions.
Manage the reconciliation of indirect tax accounts and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for tax audits and compliance checks.
Monitor changes in tax legislation across various countries and assess their impact on the organisation.
Tax Planning and Advisory
Provide strategic indirect tax planning and advice to the business, ensuring tax-efficient operations and transactions.
Support group and regional teams with indirect tax implications of new projects, contracts, and transactions.
Process Improvement
Develop and implement standardised indirect tax processes and controls across the organisation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Collaborate with group and regional finance teams to improve indirect tax-related systems and reporting.
Conduct regular reviews and internal control testing of indirect tax processes to identify and mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and regional teams, to provide indirect tax guidance and support.
Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities to manage audits, disputes, and inquiries.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 6 years' experience in either a 'Big 4' or large CA firm, or the internal tax function of a large business (ie.
revenue >$250m)
CA/CPA qualified
Demonstrated experience in managing indirect tax compliance processes for a large business
In-depth knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations in key operating jurisdictions
An interest in leveraging technology within a modern tax function and challenging the status quo.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply tax legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in leading and developing high-performing tax teams.
