About the role
The Group Head of Risk and Compliance Advisory is a senior leadership position within the Group Risk team at Cbus. This role will partner with Cbus' trustee and fund administration businesses to provide strategic and sustainable compliance and risk advice. This role will be a key driver in fostering an enterprise-wide approach to risk management that promotes a consistent application of risk and compliance management processes across Cbus' business units.
This role will support the Chief Risk Officer and will involve working with Directors, Executives, Senior leaders and other business unit stakeholders across Cbus.
Key Responsibilities:
In your role you will:
Lead, develop and drive strategies to influence executive, senior leaders and other business stakeholders to embed and foster risk and compliance culture and practices within Cbus.Partner with the businesses stakeholders and 1st line Risk and Compliance teams to lead the identification and monitoring of compliance and operational risks within the Cbus trustee and fund administration businesses and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and policies.Oversee divisional and business unit level risk profile, KRIs and risk tolerance and provide expert advice and best practice guidance on all aspects of risk and compliance practices and processes.Co-ordinate regulatory (e.g. APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC) or other third party (e.g. audit and consultant) information requests, reviews, including onsite visits and responses to recommendations or follow up items.Qualifications:
To be successful you will be:
An experienced leader with ideally 10+ years experience in compliance and risk management and advisory preferably in an APRA regulated industry.Possessing extensive experience in a 2nd line risk and compliance advisory role and evidence of partnering with businesses in the Australian financial services industry.Equipped with highly developed communication skills both written and verbal, including 1:1 and in small groups at Board and senior Government and industry levels on legal and risk management policy matters for the superannuation sector.Able to demonstrate your ability in building trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels of the business with a demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into operational reality, through delegation, managing team performance, creating accountability, and aligning systems and processes.Having a working knowledge of the superannuation industry and investment activities and functions.This is a great senior leadership role to make a real impact on our fund, we are a highly collaborative environment, acting with our members' interests at heart.
