Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive Financial Controller who has a hands-on approach and, ideally, experience within the agribusiness sector. This pivotal role will lead the financial direction of our group, ensuring stability and profitability through the implementation of strong financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership & Strategy Oversee and manage the accounting, legal, tax, and treasury functions of the organisation. Establish and refine the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader business goals. Design, manage and optimise financial models to drive business profitability and sustainability. Review and develop comprehensive tax strategies to maximise benefits and ensure compliance. In collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, provide support and mentoring to the Accounts and Payroll Officer. Operational Collaboration Collaborate closely with operational management to develop and streamline reporting structures within business units. Work with business units to understand financial needs, providing strategic guidance and support. Project & Development Assist in the financial modelling of new projects and developments. Work alongside project managers to ensure financial viability and return on investments. Performance & Reporting Develop and implement key financial metrics to monitor the financial health of the organisation. Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders as required. Analyse financial processes and systems, identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices. Stay updated with industry trends, especially within the agribusiness sector, to ensure the business remains competitive. Who we are looking for: Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certificate (e.g. CPA) is a plus. Proven experience in a similar financial role, ideally within the agribusiness sector. Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams. Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation, particularly in the agribusiness sector. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent Microsoft Excel skillset with experience in the ability to introduce PowerBI or other business analytical platform functionality. Ability to travel to our other business sites in Perth and the South West as and when required. What we can offer: Competitive salary and package structure.
