MARS are partnering with a global and listed company that are looking to hire a Group Financial Accountant on a permanent basis due to an internal transfer.

Position Overview:The Financial Accountant in the Group Reporting function plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial information and assisting with the preparation of group-level financial reports.
This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The Responsibilities:Group Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.Month-End Close:
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Financial Analysis:
Perform variance analysis, reconcile financial discrepancies, and provide insightful commentary on group performance.Consolidations:
Contribute to the consolidation process for multiple business units and the group, including intercompany eliminations.External Reporting:
Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and technical accounting papers as required by stakeholders, including auditors and senior management.Audit Support:
Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with all audit requirements.Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the financial reporting process.Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with various business units, finance teams, and external auditors to ensure consistent and clear communication of financial data.
The Requirements:
Must be Big 4 or Mid-Tier trained OR come from a large, listed and complex group function.CA/CPA qualified (or near completion).Previous financial reporting and technical accounting experience involving the consolidation of large and complex groups is desirable but not essential.Ability to engage stakeholders and build strong relationships.Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.Switched on, ambitious, driven, motivated, and curious mindset.Strong organisational and communications skills - both written and verbal.
To Note:
They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.Only Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or long-term visa holders will be considered (no sponsorship options).
