This position is responsible for managing the delivery of the financial accounting processes for the group head office function, including the production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of accounting records, processes and systems to support the accuracy of the group financials. Key responsibilities: Manage weekly and monthly close process and activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow – this includes posting of journal entries Coordinate the completion of the weekly checklist in accordance with reporting timetable Periodic analysis of the general ledger, identifying variances against budget and last year and providing commentary explaining material variances Stewardship and Balance Sheet Control Prepare and/or review high risk monthly balance sheet reconciliations Responsible for the quality of reconciliations prepared by direct reports ensuring they are completed timely, accurately and are free of misstatement Maintain effective balance sheet control through quarterly balance sheet review process Prepare and complete half-year and year-end financial statements in accordance with the internal reporting timetable Key point of contact for external auditors including preparation of quality work-papers to the and the timely response to all audit queries Prepare annual remuneration report (financials) Transformation Input into the design, set up and structure of accounting ERP system Finance Business Partner to support accounting, budget and forecasting for the transformation program Master Data set up of chart of accounts in accounting ERP Treasury Management Oversight of the group treasury function and cashflow management Responsible for cashflow forecasting and managing liquidity and determining/executing on treasury strategy to ensure targets met Responsible for negotiating day-to-day treasury deals including Term Deposits, large forward contracts/hedge positions, in conjunction with proposing hedging strategies on major transactions Responsible for drafting semi-annual covenant calculations and compliance certificate Key contact with banking syndicate members on transactional banking matters Process and Controls Responsible for the implementation and delivery of an effective control environment, through the cascade of group policies and procedures Responsible for the implementation of improvements to existing processes and controls Responsible for the development and maintenance of accounting policies and SOP's R&D Tax Manage and support the R&D claim including resource allocation R&D tax data collation, reporting and review of draft lodgements Ensure all direct reports have clearly defined objectives, performance measures and development needs identified and documented Retain and develop the direct reports by providing regular feedback, coaching and training to support identified development needs Key requirements: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting Certified Accountant CPA or CA is mandatory 5+ years' experience in complex or large public company IFRS experience required Solid understanding of multi-currency finance environments Proficient in using and learning multiple management information systems Understanding of stakeholder engagement and ability to build stakeholder relationships Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Advanced Microsoft Excel Proven track record of leading and developing teams to get results Solid attention to detail with strong numeracy skills High learning agility, self-learner, with an ability to work in ambiguous environments Ability to meet deadlines We're looking for people who arecurious, caring, courageous and committed to join us; people who want to contribute their best work every single dayand continue delivering deliciously good food that's…Always Good!
