Group Executive - Science and Innovation and Chief ScientistThe Group Executive – Science and Innovation and Chief Scientist is a senior leadership role in the Bureau.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Meteorology, the Group Executive and Chief Scientist is responsible for the delivery of customer-centric, innovative, and world-class research and development enabling the Bureau to deliver better climate, oceans, water, weather, and Earth system forecasts and insights to our customers and create shared value with our partners. The incumbent will champion the Bureau's Research and Development Plan, work closely with the Executive Team in leading and influencing the strategic direction of the Bureau, and collaborate with domestic and international partners to ensure the Bureau continues to deliver world-class services and products to our customers.Our ideal candidateOur ideal candidate will be an internationally recognised scientist with a track record of leading highly proficient and multi-disciplinary scientific teams. You will have respected relationships with national and international scientific organisations across public and private sectors and collaborate with these partners to further the Bureau's research and development priorities.As an outstanding people leader, you will have a demonstrated capacity to lead a scientific research-based function consistent with our Strategy 2022-2027. You will also have the leadership qualities to support the Bureau's strong sense of purpose and mission in service of the Australian community.
