About the Role CatholicCare offers a range of fun and interesting social group activities for eligible members of the community. Group Activities enhance the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of participants and encourage people to engage with others. The aim of the program is to empower individuals to build new contacts and networks, creating a better quality of life.
As part of the Community Care Team, the Group Activity Assistant's key responsibilities are: Assisting with developing, organising, and facilitating a range of client social support activitiesCompleting client intakes and assessmentsPromoting services in the region to ensure ongoing program viabilityUndertaking relevant administrative and data entry as per organisational procedures, including development and distribution of activity calendarsUndertaking risk assessment of facilities to ensure suitability and safety for service provisionWhat We're Looking For Availability to work between the hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to FridayProfessional communication skillsAbility to build rapport with clientsBasic numeracy, written and verbal communication skills relevant to the work areaStrong technical skills, including the ability to proficiently use computers and the Microsoft Office application suiteIn addition to the above, you will need to demonstrate: Knowledge of undertaking risk assessmentsExperience in safe food handling practicesExperience in organising eventsCurrent C or CA class Driver's license (QLD)Desirable: Relevant Certificate in Community CareThe successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
All offers of employment are subject to the satisfactory completion of relevant screening and background checks, including an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS disability worker screening check, and attainment of a Blue Card for working with children prior to commencement.
