We are seeking to appoint an experienced full time Group Accountant to join our Finance Team based in Tully, North Queensland.
Our Role An exciting opportunity is available in our Finance Team for a highly experienced and motivated Group Accountant.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this person will be responsible for providing financial leadership and executing robust financial management strategies to support the sustainability, development and growth of Blenners Transport.
This role will be offered on a full-time basis based at our Head Office at Tully Nth QLD with a competitive annual salary on offer.
The Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, document and lead implementation of sound financial systems, policies, procedures and improvement processes. Lead and provide effective performance management of the Finance team. Provide effective management of Finance functions including acquittals, debtors, creditors, asset management and payroll. Work collaboratively with directors and senior managers to support effective business performance management. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with external stakeholders and external auditors. Support and relieve CFO as required. Your Skills & Experience CA or CPA qualification (or working towards). Minimum 5 years sound financial and management accounting experience, with proven accounting skills, particularly budgeting and variance analysis. Demonstrated effectiveness with month-end processes in a multi cost-centre environment. Highly effective interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to manage and develop a small team while building and maintaining effective customer/stakeholder relationships. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively as a member of a team. Well-developed problem-solving skills with proven effectiveness in systems review, improvement processes and documentation. Previous experience in the transport industry would be highly regarded but is not essential.
The position is based in the Tully Head Office, and is only available to applicants eligible to live and work in Australia.
