From the start, our philosophy was to take ownership of problems and deliver cutting-edge solutions, that remains true today.Responsibilities:The Group Accountant operates independently to manage Australian and global accounts, monthly payroll, financial and compliance reporting such as payroll tax PAYG, FBT, and BAS. This role also involves the management of all cash receipting and disbursements. The Group Accountant reports and provides assistance to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as required.Ownership of global accounts, including journals, reconciliations, inter-company accounts, trial balances, and direction of other accounting support staff.Manage payroll processing, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Ensure ATO Single Touch Payroll categories are accurate and up-to-date.Prepare and pay quarterly superannuation payments and monthly payroll taxes.Preparation, lodgement, and payment of all PAYG, BAS, and FBT returns.Address any queries or adjustments relating to payroll, accounts, payments, or receipts.Preparation of monthly financial statements and quarterly group consolidations.Maintaining the debtors and creditors ledgers and ensuring that all accounts are settled by specified due dates.Work with external auditors as needed for annual audit and financial statement preparation.Maintain and update standard operating procedure documents for key finance processes.Qualifications and ExperienceCA/CPA qualified (Ideal)Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity in a commercial environment (Ideal)Demonstrated advanced Excel skills and ability to organise data into coherent summaries. Proficiency in MYOB desired but not critical.In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and FBT laws.Proven ability to identify and prioritise necessary steps for task completion, set schedules, and implement plans effectively.Excellent attention to detail and ability to cross-check and reconcile own work.Strong commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding sensitive issues handled within the company.Ability to identify and implement process improvements without compromising accuracy, integrity, or internal controls.Click 'Apply Now' or contact me on ****** for a confidential discussion.Six Degrees Executive acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and live.
