The Role
Working as part of our dedicated Finance Team, the
Group Accountant
will provide support by managing key facets of transactional accounting, preparing reports and providing insights, analysis, and transactional commentary to senior leaders in relation to all aspects of financial performance. This role is designed for further development with the transformations and growth underway within the business.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Finance Team with weekly, monthly, and annual accounting processes including preparation of P&L's, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flows and provide key insights across the Club's operational precinct.
Preparing monthly financial Board Reports.
Developing and maintaining annual operating budget.
Preparing Special Purpose financial statements, audit management, Business Activity Statements, Workcover, and FBT annual returns.
Managing ATO and QRO online gateway/relationship and other compliance obligations.
Collaborating across all functional teams and internal/external stakeholders to continually improve financial systems, processes, and reporting.
About You

Ideally, candidates should also be able to demonstrate the following experiences, skills, and attributes:
Degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience in the application of financial accounting principles and practices gained in a commercial or NFP. Experience in the Club Industry and understanding of accounting principles for gaming would be viewed favourably.
Progress towards or completed CPA/CA qualifications.
A thorough working knowledge of current accounting principles, standards, regulatory environments, and taxation.
Ability to support the financial outcomes of the business by developing a thorough understanding of our Club's operations to identify/develop opportunities for improved performance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel analytics (Power BI), with a high degree of proficiency utilising accounting applications.
Experience with financial modelling and analysis.
Strong attention to detail, advanced problem-solving skills, and an ability to manage tight deadlines.
Self-motivated with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
A proactive, stakeholder-driven approach with a strong drive towards delivering high-quality outcomes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organisation.
