SLR has one of Australia's largest teams of groundwater specialists, with a presence in QLD, WA and NSW and Victoria. We have a focus on quality and working at the forefront of the groundwater industry and are seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader to lead our great team of 10+ specialising in groundwater modelling. With some great Technical Directors through to Graduate Consultants you will be working with a truly diverse team with exceptional support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all coding or script writing, data and statistical analysis and representing systems through models and process. Key Responsibilities
Job tasks and responsibilities
The role includes:
• Technical work in the planning, development and review of numerical groundwater models 
• Identifying prospects and contributing to with business development and innovation
• Lead in proposal preparation and engaging with stakeholders to tailor models to best meet their requirements
• Opportunities also exist for planning and managing complex groundwater projects from inception to completion or to work with our surface water modelling team.
• Leading a great Technical team with some of the best in the business, coordinating with different teams and disciplines to deliver best for project solutions. 


Skills and experience
• Appropriate Science or Engineering tertiary qualification and relevant groundwater industry experience
• Groundwater modelling experience, ideally with MODFLOW-USG, MODFLOW6, FEFLOW, as well as calibration, verification and sensitivity and uncertainty analysis would be an asset.
• High level knowledge and application of QGIS, Python, FloPy and programming languages would be an asset with an understanding of conceptual hydrogeology.
• Good attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information in written and spoken form. 
• A strong team player with experience managing people. 
• Previous team management and leadership experience is preferred but not essential. 
• A strong understanding of commercials and business acumen would also be highly regarded. 
• Comfort and confidence in report writing skills, with the ability to complete groundwater technical documents with minimal edits would be highly regarded. 
• High level knowledge with and application of groundwater related legislation across Australia and guidelines as applied to resource, development and infrastructure projects would also be highly regarded.
• Experience in the consulting industry including client engagement/liaison or project management would also be highly regarded.
