Your Opportunity
A new 28-bed residential rehabilitation centre is opening in Bundaberg.
This facility will provide withdrawal support (detox) and residential rehabilitation services in a safe and supportive environment, aimed at promoting lasting change and we are looking for a part time Groundsperson to join us.
The service will be operational mid-February 2025, and we are looking for someone able to start around this date.
This is a 0.6FTE position with flexibility around days and hours of work, on a consistent schedule.
Salary for this position is $33.00 - $36.00 per hour plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging to increase your take-home pay.
What we are looking for
As an experienced Grounds or Maintenance person, you will be able to provide general handyman skills including gardening, cleaning and light carpentry duties.
You will be comfortable working on a large residential site and have a compassionate and engaging nature.
You'll also bring:
A background in landscaping, maintenance, and groundskeeping including mowing, weeding, spraying general garden upkeep
Competence in maintaining gardening equipment and machinery and use of basic power tools
An understanding of, and compliance with, occupational health and safety requirements
A friendly, flexible and non-judgemental attitude – including working within professional boundaries
Good emotional regulation skills, with an understanding of de-escalation practices
Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people
Understanding for the need to maintain confidentiality of clients – both at work and after hours
Supervisory skills – you'll be mentoring and supporting clients to develop skills in this area
A relevant qualification would be highly desirable, but relevant experience and a great attitude are what's most important to us.
You will need to have a current, valid Australian Drivers Licence and a National Police Check.
