We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Grounds Person to join our team and help us achieve this goal.
Primary Purpose of the Position: The Grounds Person will assist the Greenkeeper Lead in maintaining the school grounds to a high standard.
This role involves a variety of tasks including general grounds maintenance, landscaping, and ensuring the safety and aesthetics of the school environment.
Key Responsibilities: General grounds maintenance including mowing, pruning, hedging, weeding, fertilizing, and edging.
Operating and maintaining garden machinery, tools, and equipment.
Basic landscape gardening and garden bed makeovers.
Cleaning and maintenance of outdoor furniture and bin enclosures.
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of turf and practice wickets.
Ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience: Mandatory: Blue Card, current Construction White Card.
Desirable: Previous experience as a Grounds Person, strong technical background in landscaping and horticulture, experience in a school or educational environment, current first aid qualifications.
Personal Attributes: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Adaptable and able to manage changes in weather conditions and work schedules.
Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to the team.
Energetic, motivated, proactive, and efficient with a passion for outdoor work.
