About the Role As a Grounds Maintenance Assistant you will complete grounds maintenance of all Allambi properties, providing clients with a clean and safe environment.
Operations Maintain a clean and safe work environment for clients and employees in keeping with WHS principles Repair and maintenance of equipment Mow and edge lawns General maintenance of gardens including pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs Applying pesticides and fertilizers as necessary Rubbish removal Assist with additional tasks including moving furniture, house set ups and other forms of maintenance Maintain tools and equipment appropriately to ensure safety and security Store tools and equipment appropriately according to working environment Monitor, address and report all identified issues to Grounds Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner Motivate and promote increased productivity Quality control of all site grounds Support and train youth in relation to maintaining a job in the grounds maintenance industry Undertake external works within the community under the banner of Community Property Maintenance Work Health & Safety Ensure all documentation is completed and up to date at all times in line with WHS Management System Ensure WHS policies and procedures are adhered to Identify WHS issues and take appropriate steps to ensure rectification in a timely manner Wear safety and provided PPE equipment at all times Keep up to date on all regulatory and legislative requirements pertaining to work performed Maintain work practices in line with MSDS information Be aware and maintain standards according to manual handling principles and compartmentation Perform daily safety checks of all equipment and vehicles Other Responsibilities Undertake additional tasks as instructed by Director Education & Development Attend meetings when required Undertake additional training as required by additional duties Work unsupervised and effectively for extended periods of time while managing jobs Maintain a professional approach and image at all times when liaising with external organisations, businesses and trades Mentoring young people Be aware of client behaviours at Allambi houses and ensure discretionary judgment is used when performing tasks on-site Ensure that all Allambi policies and procedures are understood and followed at all time Minimum Requirements Experience in Horticulture or equivalent.
12 months experience in a relevant trade Current Manual Driver's License Broad range of maintenance skills Experience with commercial ride-on mowers and other power garden equipment High level of physical health and fitness to manage physical demands of the role Maintain a tidy and professional appearance Strong team working skills Sound knowledge of WHS policies and principles Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills Must have these if successful: Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment - can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-working-children-check) Current NDIS Worker Check: (can be obtained via https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/ndiswc-apply) Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003) National Police Check (this must be obtained via https://www.employmentscreeninggroup.com/au/allambi/) A current driver's licence Comprehensive Car Insurance Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module (can be accessed via: https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks Two professional references What is on offer?
