About the Role We are seeking a Grounds and Maintenance Person to join our dedicated Property Management Team. In this role, you will play an important part in maintaining our school's grounds, gardens, and facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-presented environment that supports the school community. This position also involves assisting with bus driving when needed.
Key Responsibilities Perform regular grounds maintenance including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and garden bed upkeep. Ensure playgrounds, sports fields, and outdoor facilities are clean, safe, and in good condition. Carry out general repairs and maintenance of property infrastructure and outdoor equipment. Assist with event setup and support, ensuring smooth operations during school activities. Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures and report any hazards or maintenance issues. Assist with bus transportation duties, including driving school buses when required. Selection Criteria The ideal candidate will:
Have an active Christian faith with regular involvement in a local church, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of WCCS. Possess trade qualifications or have relevant experience in groundskeeping and property maintenance. Demonstrate an understanding of WHS requirements and a willingness to follow safety procedures. Be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and equipment handling. Hold or be willing to obtain a Light Rigid (LR) driver's license. Demonstrated ability in: Working with People: Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external contractors. Following Instructions & Procedures: Adherence to safety procedures, instructions, and school policies to complete tasks efficiently. Planning & Organising: Good time management and organisational skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule. Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
