About the RoleThe Grounds & Maintenance Officer will work as part of the Grounds and Maintenance Team to carry out general repairs and maintenance of school building and grounds assets. Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to:
General maintenance and development of turf areas and surrounds (mowing, whipper snipping, trimming, weeding, etc.)Labouring and operating of some machineryOperates and maintains grounds keeping machineryPlanting and maintaining trees and gardens including pruning and weedingSet out and mark playing fieldsAssist in maintenance of playing surfaces including setting up of greens, seeding, topdressing and fertilising, under supervisionMaintains playgroundsRepairing structures necessitating the use of labourer's tools/skills and general labouring dutiesRepairs and maintenance to school facilities at non-trade level (including but not limited to painting, repairing walls, doors, windows, minor carpentry work, troubleshooting plumbing issues)Moving of furniture and other items as requiredMaintain simple records/administrationDriving College vehicles including 12 seater bus when requiredCleaning of buses and other vehiclesMaintain appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.Work RequirementsHold a Working with Children Blue CardCurrent drivers licence (LR licence desirable)Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic EducationWhat we offerAnnual Leave with 17.5% leave loadingAccess to salary packaging options to maximise your salary12.75% Employer Superannuation ContributionsAccess to long service leave after 7 years of continuous service (portability of Long Service Leave may also be applicable)14 Weeks' paid parental leaveAccess to Employee Assistance ProgramFor further information about the role, please download the Position Description Intending applicants must be fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation.
