About the Role
You will support the existing grid connection team, to provide in-house modelling (PSSE/PSCAD) for Wind/PV/BESS projects. You will have excellent leadership from recognized power systems leaders, leading to plenty of scope for career progression within the business.
Responsibilities Power System Modeling: Prepare PSS/E NEM snapshots for grid connection studies and conduct in-house modeling for R0 and R1 phases.Site Prospecting: Assist in identifying new BESS, solar, and wind farm sites by performing PSS/E simulations, reviewing NSP reports, and analyzing AEMO's Integrated System Plan.Connection Agreements: Assist in negotiating transmission connection agreements, including scope reviews and technical terms.Grid Connection Tools: Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop power system modeling and automation tools for R0, R1, and R2 studies.Regulatory Approvals: Support efforts to achieve NER 5.3.4A/B approval, Offer to Connect execution, and AEMO registration.GPS and Test Plans: Assist in developing GPS compliance assessments and R2 model validation test plans in collaboration with EPCs, OEMs, NSPs, and AEMO.Hold Point Testing: Provide RUG parameters, conduct simulations, support risk assessments, and compile hold point testing reports for NSP and AEMO submissions.Skills & Experience Electrical engineering degreeIdeally 2+ years using PSSE/PSCADGood understanding of NER Chapter 5 and the overall grid connection processesHold point testing experience advantageousGood communication skillsWillingness to develop career in gridBenefits Work for a leading asset ownerCareer development opportunitiesSupport from a leading grid teamPermanent, stable positionWork from home flexibilitySalary; $120-145k + super + bonusHow to Apply
