Grid Connection Director – Renewable EnergyWe're Green Wind Renewables – a WA based renewable energy developer focused on developing large-scale wind energy projects to accelerate WA's transition to net zero emissions.
We're developing a portfolio of large-scale onshore wind farms totalling up to 2.4GW in WA, connected to the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS).About the OpportunityYou'll be part of a dynamic and collaborative renewable energy development team, managing the development of large-scale wind energy projects in Western Australia's South-West Interconnected System.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:Project management of the grid connection process in the SWIS, managing consultants to perform grid modelling and electrical design, stakeholder management, technology assessment, preliminary engineering and grid connection activities of renewable energy projects up to the point of financial close.Leading and delivering the grid connection strategy for the Green Wind Renewables portfolio of projects to achieve network connection and regulatory approval including management of third-party technical and modelling consultants prior to financial close.Leading the development of project technical documentation, SLDs, layouts and technical schedules for project execution and operations & maintenance.Project reporting and managing grid development schedules and budgets.Leading the technical design concepts for the electrical side of the projects, including constraint analysis, equipment selection, sizing and specifications.While you might not have had experience in renewable energy before, if you have transferable skills we're keen to hear from you.
If you have experience developing energy infrastructure, transmission, power systems, or the electrical side of mining projects or have skills in project management, electrical systems market operation/regulation, government approvals, and/or network planning and design then you could be a great fit.About YouGreen Wind Renewables is seeking an energetic and passionate team player with a can-do attitude to join our expanding team.
We're seeking someone who is results-driven, keen for a diverse hands-on role and proactive in their approach.
While prior experience in the renewables sector isn't mandatory, if you possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience, we're keen to hear from you:Demonstrated proficiency in project management (5 years or more) of large-scale generation/transmission projects, encompassing aspects such as project management, grid performance standards, WEM experience, stakeholder engagement, electrical engineering, and grid connection processes.Exceptional communication skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including local regulators, Western Power, landowners, technology providers, OEMs, and AEMO.A degree or equivalent in fields like power systems, engineering, transmission planning, or business-related disciplines is advantageous, though not essential.Your main workplace will be situated in our central Perth CBD office.
