We are focused on the future and intend to remain the industry leaders and proud ambassadors of this beautiful country we are lucky enough to experience and share everyday.About the roleWe currently have a full-time position available for a reliable, honest, customer focused person to join the Freight team in Broome.As a Freight Coordinator/Driver your day will start by loading freight into Greyhound transport, ensuring it is secure and well organised. You will then start your drive to Derby, ensuring that all freight is delivered to the correct destinations on time, and arrange pick ups, collections and deliveries with other customers on your run.You can expect the return trip to take 6-7 hours, depending on traffic and other variables. On your return you will have a break then head out to pick up Australia Post and hospital freight. You will finish the day sorting mail, local deliveries and accepting freight and enquiries if time permits.Job Specific tasksEnsure customer's freight is delivered to the correct destinations on time, and arrange pick ups, collections and deliveries with othersAccurately sort, package, consign and deliver freightEnsure compliance with all Greyhound policies taking particular note of Freight restrictions and guidelines.Answer enquiries and provide advice on freight options and issue all required documentation.Prepare customer invoices and accept payment, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Lift and manoeuvre freight safely, in line with manual handling guidelines.Ensure a fun and high spirited team culture is developed through positive and supportive teamworkLead by example and identify areas of improvement and manage appropriatelyDemonstrate excellent understanding of Freight network and terms and conditions, use the Freight system accurately, and identify when freight cannot be carriedSend consignment notes, labels, letters, and other written materials as required, and demonstrate effective use of post and filing systemsActively contribute to the success of Greyhound Freight by meeting and exceeding sales targetsCommunicate appropriately with customers to verify insurance claims and complete the correct insurance claim formLiaise with internal and external suppliersCoordinate the delivery of inbound and outbound Australia Post mail volumes to ensure delivery of required service levelsEscalate any over carry situations, errors or potential risks involving Australia Post Mail to the Freight ManagerInteract and communicate with designated Australia Post employees regarding the delivery of servicesComply with government and regulatory authoritiesPro active and cooperative member of the Greyhound Australia Freight DepartmentAt all times behave in accordance with our company valuesComply with the company's safety systems, ensuring reasonable care for the health and safety of all employees, visitors and contractorsEssential Experience and CriteriaA LR Licence ( Required ) HR preferredA Criminal history Check ( Required )A Forklift Licence or willing to obtain ( Essential )Experience in manual handling techniquesCourier driving or heavy vehicle driving experienceUnderstanding of mathematics including calculating massBasic computer knowledge and experience including MS OfficePrevious experience in a customer service roleExceptional ability to build relationshipsDemonstrated initiative, judgement and problem solving skillsIntermediate planning and organising skillsSound geographical knowledge of local regionOur values mean a lot to us and we hope they resonate with you!!!!!Our ValuesBe safeLet's collaborateDelight our customersBe accountableBe empoweredEnjoy what you do
