Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) is looking for a motivated and passionate qualified Greenkeeper to join our facilities and grounds team. In this role, you will provide maintenance and care of the School's grounds, including sports fields, gardens, and lawns. This role ensures that the outdoor areas are kept in excellent condition, providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for students, staff, and visitors.

About the Position Reporting to the Director of Facilities, your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the School's grounds and sports fields by mowing, trimming, watering, and aerating lawns, as well as pruning plants and removing weeds. Maintaining equipment, assisting with landscaping projects, and ensuring health and safety standards are met are also required.
Selection Criteria: You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:
Experience and Qualifications: Demonstrated minimum of 4 years' experience in a Greenkeeper or similar role, with relevant qualifications in sports turf management, horticulture, or a related field (Certificate II, III, or IV). Possession of a Queensland Driver's Licence and current first aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Technical Expertise in Grounds Maintenance: Proven ability to manage and maintain lawns, sports fields, and gardens, including skills in mowing, aerating, fertilising, irrigating, and pruning. Proficiency in operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, aerators, and irrigation systems.Sports Field Preparation and Care: Demonstrated competence in marking, lining, and preparing sports fields for various activities, with a strong understanding of the maintenance needs of different sports surfaces, including cricket pitches, soccer fields, and tennis courts.Knowledge of Environmental and Sustainability Practices: Strong knowledge and application of environmental and sustainability practices in groundskeeping, including the ability to incorporate these principles into daily operations and adhere to relevant environmental laws and guidelines.Health and Safety Compliance: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.Physical Fitness and Personal Attributes: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, with a strong attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to addressing potential issues.
