The Vines Golf Club of Reynella is looking to recruit a qualified greenkeeper or someone who is keen to learn as part of a strong course maintenance team. We are embarking on some exciting new projects including the installation of a new state of the art irrigation system. The skills gained during this phase will be invaluable for the turf maintenance team.
The Vines Golf Club of Reynella has a high reputation as a metropolitan hill-based golf course. The course is nestled on three sides by Tangari Park and is a haven for wildlife including kangaroos, koalas and many bird varieties. The course has 18 holes, a spare hole for inclusion during projects and practice facilities including a putting practice area, a chipping green and a driving range.
The Vines has over 1100 members and has been on the current site since 1964 with a long history at another site back to 1925. The Club is looking to attract the right individual to enhance our current team of excellent sports turf managers.
Responsibilities of the position: Course Maintenance: To assist the Course Superintendent to maintain the course to the standard set out by the Board.
By following rules and policies.By adhering to worker health and safety policies and maintaining a safe workplace.By reading, understanding and following machinery operator's manuals and associated risk assessments.By following daily pre and post checks for equipment.By observing the workplace and reporting back to the Course Superintendent with your observations.Preferred skills: Currently enrolled in or completed a Cert III Turf Management or experience in a related role.Chemical application certificate or the willingness to gain this qualification.The ability to operate turf maintenance equipment safely.The ability to work un-supervised at times.To have strong communication skills.Understanding of WHS policies and Safe Work Procedures.Have a general understanding of the game of golf.Be hard working and physically fit.
