We specialize in the development of greenfield projects in renewables, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne and lead the development of our exciting portfolio of projects.Position Overview:As a Project Development Manager, you will play a key role in the development of greenfield renewable energy projects, from the feasibility stage through to the permitted stage and connection study stage.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on renewable energy projects in Australia, with a strong understanding of the regulatory and technical aspects of project development.
You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to navigate the development process and ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development of greenfield renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and BESS, from initial feasibility assessments to project permitting and grid connection.Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies to assess project viability, including site selection, resource assessment, environmental impact assessment, and financial modeling.Manage the permitting process for projects, including obtaining planning approvals, environmental permits, and other regulatory approvals required for project development.Coordinate connection studies with Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs) and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to assess grid connection options and requirements.Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure project designs meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.Monitor and address grid constraints and issues, ensuring projects are developed in accordance with current National Electricity Market (NEM) grid requirements.Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and community groups, to facilitate project development and address any concerns or issues that arise.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in project development, with a focus on greenfield renewable energy projects.Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering renewable energy projects in Australia, preferably including experience with wind, solar, and BESS projects.Working knowledge of the regulatory framework governing renewable energy development in Australia, including planning regulations, environmental regulations, and grid connection requirements.Experience working with TNSPs and AEMO on grid connection studies and requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Location:This position is based in Melbourne, Australia.
