We have a requirement with our client partner for a Store Operations / POS Engineer to join their team on a 5-Month till April contract then converting to permanent.The Store Operations / POS Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and related technologies in retail environments.
This role ensures the seamless operation of in-store systems, supports day-to-day retail activities, and drives innovation to improve customer and employee experiences.Key Responsibilities:System Maintenance and Support:Configure, deploy, and maintain POS hardware and software solutions across retail locations.Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to minimize business disruptions.Ensure seamless integration of POS systems with backend systems, including inventory, finance, and CRM.Monitor system performance, security, and compliance with industry standards.Store Operations Enablement:Collaborate with store teams to understand operational challenges and provide technical solutions.Support technology rollouts, upgrades, and migrations across retail locations.Optimize processes to improve transaction speeds, reduce downtime, and enhance user experience.Technical Innovation:Evaluate emerging technologies to recommend enhancements to POS and store operations systems.Implement and support mobile payment solutions and self-checkout systems.Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and test new retail technologies.Documentation and Training:Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for POS systems and processes.Train store employees and support teams on the use and troubleshooting of POS systems.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience managing POS systems in a retail environment.Technical Skills:Proficiency with POS hardware (terminals, scanners, printers) and software solutions (e.g., Oracle MICROS, NCR, Shopify, etc.
).Knowledge of retail operations, including payment processing, inventory management, and customer engagement tools.Experience with system integration (API, middleware) and troubleshooting tools.Familiarity with networking and security protocols for retail systems.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in POS systems or IT operations (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL).Experience with cloud-based retail technologies and mobile POS solutions.Please feel free to contact Shilpa Chopra - Resource Manager on 0482072637 or email.
