The Role:
We are seeking a Graphic Designer/UX/UI Designer with a passion and desire to create great new products and materials. This is a dual role, with 50% of your time working within our Marketing team on internal projects and the other 50% as a Product Developer working in our project teams for our clients.
The purpose of the role is to: Work with our marketing team to create impactful digital and print media materials.Collaborate with project teams to effectively plan out assigned activities/tasks to achieve defined goals. This will entail gathering user insights and researching and evaluating user needs to deliver an outstanding user experience that provides intuitive design.Plan and implement new designs and optimize existing user interface design.Develop wireframes/prototypes; all the way from conception, through to software development handover, and support with the implementation.Work within a Quality Management System in a highly regulated environment.Generate digital assets that combine creativity and awareness of design requirements.Understand and apply usability engineering principles for optimal user experience design.Conduct assigned activities/tasks following prescribed methods, seeking appropriate review and supervision to achieve appropriate quality.Co-ordinate and complete effective reviews of assigned Output or Outcomes.Manage assigned activities/tasks and expectations of relevant stakeholders.Communicate effectively and in a timely manner regarding the status of assigned activities.Adjust to meet goals and commitments made.Work autonomously and as part of an agile team (in sprints).About youDesired Skills and Experience:
Prerequisites for this position include a university qualification in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Interaction Design, or a similar discipline. We are looking for an all-around graphic designer who is capable of creating both marketing materials and digital UI/UX Products.
Graphic Design Skills: Strong visual communication/graphic design skills.Ability to print materials such as brochures, banners, business cards, etc.A firm understanding typography hierarchy.A demonstrated ability to create iconography and infographics from scratch.Ability to create digital assets for social media.Capability to design impactful packaging.Ability to add new content and maintain existing content within our corporate website (using WordPress) would be an added bonus.Video post-production editing and animation skills would be an added bonus.Computer Skills (required): Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office suite (inc Powerpoint).Computer Skills (nice to have): Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Animate), WordPress (or equivalent web content management system).UI/UX Skills: Ability to work on multiple projects, present design concepts, and consult with your stakeholders on improving them.A demonstrated ability to use prototyping/wireframing software.Ability to create a User Flow diagram.An interest in conducting user research and testing.Exceptional digital design skills applicable to software, websites and apps.Ability to organise and hold meetings on Microsoft Teams.Ability to use design constraints to your advantage.Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.Ability to communicate and execute Design Thinking methodologies and principles.A demonstrated ability to apply original thought in solving open problems by utilising a methodical and logical approach to identify the root cause of an issue, developing a design direction and vision, and delivering solutions that are fresh and novel.Computer Skills (required): Figma or Adobe XD (or equivalent prototyping software).Computer Skills (nice to have): Draw.io, Jira, ProtoPie.If you are ready and have the right skills, experience, and most importantly, attitude, then a role with a truly unique group of people, passionate about using design and entrepreneurship to create new businesses awaits.
