Department of Primary Industries and Regions Job reference: 629830 Location: 5064 - URRBRAE Job status: Long Term Contract Eligibility: Open to Everyone The Opportunity We have an opportunity for a Grains Pathology Officer to be part of the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the SARDI grains pathology teams in the delivery of South Australian Grains Industry Trust (SAGIT) and Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) funded research.
The role is a SAGIT supported traineeship that will contribute to both cereal and pulse pathology research and extension activities through laboratory and field work.
The Grains Pathology Officer will:
have a passion for the agriculture industry in South Australia. be motivated to communicate scientific concepts to industry. be keen to learn, collaborate and innovate in grains pathology research. The role contributes to delivering the agency's priorities including stimulating value growth through the provision of RD&E necessary to drive productivity growth and professional development of staff.
The role contributes to delivering divisional objectives including driving new partnerships and business models and achieving impact through adoption.

This role sits within the grains pathology groups of the Plant Health and Diagnostics Program, in SARDI's Crop Science Division.

Special Conditions Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment. Opportunity up to December 2026 Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week Requirements Possession of a current driver's license and willingness to drive. You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role. The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
