About the role Valuation Services provides quality, impartial valuations to support Government service delivery. Under the Valuation of Land Act 1978 (VLA), the Valuer General is responsible for maintaining valuation rolls of all rateable and taxable land throughout the State and conducting interim valuations as required. On behalf of the Valuer General, the Rating and Taxing branch provides values for use by local governments, government agencies and emergency services as a basis to determine property rates, service charges and levies. The Specialist Valuations branch provides market valuations, government assets valuations (including insurance valuations) and mining and business interest valuations.
The Cadet Valuer, Graduate Valuer and Licensed Valuer provide support across all stages of the valuation process, while developing their own skills and knowledge in valuations. This role works closely with management, valuers, and support staff, assisting them to undertake valuations and related tasks such as inspections, research, evidence gathering and analysis of valuation information including land tenure data, sales, rent, and financial statements.
Cadet valuer roles can be offered on a Full Time or Part Time fixed term basis depending on your study commitments, up to a total of 2 years. Once a degree is obtained, you will be eligible to apply for a SCL1 valuer position.
Graduate and Licensed valuer roles may be offered on a permanent or fixed term basis. If a similar vacancy in a similar location becomes available in the next 12 months, applicants deemed suitable may be considered.
