At BCE our teachers are required to: Do I have to be Catholic? If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic. Yes, for primary and Religious Education teachers. Regarding a pathway to become Catholic, some employees opt to undertake the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you commence with BCE.
