The Office of the Registrar General (ORG) is responsible for overseeing the integrity, security, availability, and performance of the NSW land title system. We maintain the policy and legislative framework for well-defined property rights in NSW. We are at the intersection of law, technology, and regulation. We are regulating title operations, digitalising the system, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the State cadastre while putting the customer at the centre of our decision making. We are seeking a driven Graduate Surveyor to provide office and field support to the Cadastral Integrity team. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in this area, whilst working towards becoming a registered land surveyor.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Recently completed tertiary qualifications in Surveying or equivalentSound knowledge of surveying principles and standardsA current Australian drivers licence and a willingness to travelSound computer skills in a complex digital environment in order to assemble, process and disseminate survey informationYou will be rewarded with a challenging role and the opportunity to develop your surveying knowledge within the industry's Regulator. The role will require you to undertake field work, apply your well-developed surveying knowledge, and assemble, process and disseminate survey information.
The right candidate will embrace teamwork, have strong computer skills, be willing to develop skills in new areas and use complex mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills. We are looking for a person who can prioritise work in a high-volume work area to meet competing demands with conflicting and critical deadlines to maintain a high-quality output.
This role will involve: Apply well-developed surveying knowledge and sound computer skills in a complex digital environment to assemble, process and disseminate survey information.Complete activities in a timely and effective manner to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance procedures.Search NSW LRS records and other public records to assemble information that enables field surveys to be undertaken.Undertake survey fieldwork as required and adhere to safe work practices to ensure risk minimisation and injury prevention.Process field observations and carry out calculations to resolve survey problems.Draft plans, sketches and survey reports.Assist in the effective maintenance of survey equipment and assemble the equipment and supplies necessary to undertake field surveys.Your Application: Your application should include a covering letter up to two pages and a current resume plus the details of 2 referees.
