Your role During your time in the Whitehaven Coal Graduate Program, you'll receive coaching and guidance from a senior leader while gaining practical skills and training from on-the-job learning experiences and formal development sessions. The two-year rotational program will expose you to different sites and areas of the business, setting you up for success once you settle into your team after the Program.
No two days are the same as you gain a deep understanding of how a mine operation operates. You'll have the opportunity to work in different parts of the business, across their underground mine and their open cut and spend your first year out in the field getting your hands dirty, operating machinery.

Training, development & rotations They provide learning and development opportunities for all graduates tailored to your career trajectory. This includes the relevant technical skills training as well as personal development and mentoring to support you in meeting your true potential. Mentoring is a strong focus of the program. Within your first weeks with them, you will be paired with one of their senior leaders, who will provide you with coaching and guidance as you move through your rotations and into your post-program role.
