We currently have a Graduate Risk Engineer opportunity available within our Commercial Insurance business.
With a blend of business, risk management and technical engineering skills, our graduate program delivers robust and skilled training for the risk engineers of the future. As a Risk Engineer in the commercial insurance team, you will gain experience and exposure to a broad range of industries. Your primary role will be to identify potential hazards and offer informed technical advice to minimise risk and protect the assets of our customers.

Risk engineers are the "eyes and ears of the Commercial Underwriter". While underwriters work to shield businesses from financial losses due to unforeseen incidents, risk engineers are on the front lines. They inspect and assess business premises, offer expert risk management advice, and provide crucial insights into the overall quality of the business. Together, they create a robust defence against potential risks, ensuring businesses stay secure and resilient.
As a Risk Engineer, you will get exposure to many different industries and insights into how they manage risks and protect their assets.
What could a rotation look like?
As part of the Graduate program, you will predominately focus on risk engineering and rotate through the following teams:
Risk Control Team – Develop the skills of risk engineering, including attending site visits with risk consultants, preparing technical internal risk improvement reports for underwriters, reviewing industry reports and establishing loss scenario analysis.Underwriting – to understand the role underwriters play in supporting the broker and customer, and the importance of the Risk Engineer and Underwriter relationship.
