The Role Join our diverse organisation as Graduate Planner and take hold of an opportunity to make a real impact on your local community.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your knowledge and skills while supporting the daily operations of the Planning Services team in a statutory, strategic and project planning capacity. Under the supervision of the Coordinator Urban Planning, your tasks will include research and preparation of reports and recommendations for development applications, subdivisions, structure plans, local development plans, scheme amendments, local planning policies and other planning matters.
Contributing to our growing community, your responsibilities will include stakeholder and public consultation on planning matters while also providing planning advice on Crown Land matters and assist with resolution of land tenure and encumbrance issues.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capitals works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.
Minimum Requirements Degree qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent discipline)Knowledge of planning principles and processesAbility to read plans, interpret, analyse and communicate planning issues, policies and proceduresA demonstrated understanding of the principles of equal opportunity, occupational health and safety and other relevant legislation, and the willingness and capacity to implement or work within the relevant plans, policies and programsSome understanding of Western Australian planning, land, heritage and legislationWork Related Requirements The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess: National Police ClearanceRights to work in AustraliaMembership of/or eligibility for a membership, of a relevant professional bodyEmployee Benefits In addition to the salary our employees enjoy a range of benefits which may include:
