The opportunity
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, the Graduate Mine Geologist aims to add value in areas of safety, teamwork, grade control, resource definition and extensional discovery.
This role will be well suited to a recently graduated geologist looking to start their career with a comprehensive graduate program in a small team environment in a hands-on role.
By the end of your two year graduate program you will have developed all the skills required to work as a Mine Geologist in an underground mining operation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Valuing safety as part of all work activities; Provide a geological service to the business, including assessment and mitigation of geological risk to mining operations; Grade control management and reporting including underground geological assessments; Design and manage diamond drill programs including a hands-on approach to data collection; Develop geological models using Vulcan software including wireframe and block model construction; Integral part of resource discovery and ore body definition.
