What does a Mechanical Engineer in Buildings do? · Assists project team members in the design and documentation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems. · Liaises with other discipline design team members. · Carries out building heat load calculations, the basis for selecting mechanical services equipment. · Sizes HVAC distribution systems and selects equipment. · Provides input into briefs and reports, including sketches in Bluebeam. · Schedules equipment and inputs into the project specification. · Creates markups and schematics for our modelers to document. · Attends meetings with senior team members. · Attends site with senior team members to witness mechanical services installations.
