The successful candidate will be graduate level or have 1-2 years of experience and be self-motivated, articulate, and reliable. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders across the region and provide you with support on your technical growth within the wider SLR team. As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services such as conducting desktop environmental assessments, preparing supporting documents for approval applications under both State and Commonwealth legislation, preparing environmental management plans and assisting with preparation of proposals. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop your skills in environmental impact assessment and environmental management and will have the opportunity to work alongside teams in other technical disciplines. Along with a completed tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, the successful applicant will have strong written & verbal communication skills, and a passion for development and collaboration. MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR….   Mitchell Ratcliffe Technical Officer – Occupational Hygiene & Hazardous Materials "Starting with SLR has been an incredible journey filled with support and growth opportunities. As a mature graduate transitioning into a new industry, I am grateful of how welcoming and supportive my new workplace has been. SLR's commitment to my development has been evident from day one, with dedicated mentors who have guided me through my role."   Shannon Harvey Senior Project Consultant – Acoustics & Vibration "In 2020 I became part of SLR through their graduate program, beginning my journey in the Acoustics team. The program has been an excellent opportunity that allowed me to collaborate with various teams in our Newcastle office as well as connect with other graduates around APAC. Currently, I'm in the midst of transitioning to the Soil Science team to pursue my passions. What's really made my time at SLR special is the amazing team I am a part of and my manager. They're not just colleagues, they're like mentors who genuinely care about my growth and professional development. They have my back, providing encouragement and guidance to explore what truly excites me. The people at SLR and the grad program genuinely work to ensure you are aligned with your career aspirations. All in all, I would describe the grad program and SLR as a great way to commence and develop your career."
