We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Graduate Environmental Advisor to join our team.
This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong academic background in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related fields, and a passion for sustainable practices.
As a Graduate Environmental Advisor, you will assist in implementing and supporting environmental management strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the achievement of Gulkula's sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Monitoring and Reporting:
Identifying potential environmental impacts via monitoring of biotic and abiotic components and undertaking environmental risk management using appropriate control strategies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Support the team in ensuring that the organization adheres to Northern Territory laws and regulations.
Assist in preparing documentation and reports for regulatory agencies as needed.
Environmental Audits and Assessments:
Monitoring and assessment of mine rehabilitation to track growth trajectories and identify and mitigate issues that may threaten successful ecological restoration post mining.
Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Assist in communicating environmental issues and sustainability initiatives both internally and externally to stakeholders, including government agencies and local communities.
Training and Awareness:
Support the development and delivery of training programs for employees to raise awareness of environmental policies, practices, and compliance requirements.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate records of environmental data, project documentation, and compliance reports.
Ensure data is easily accessible for internal and external audits.
Research and Policy Development:
Conduct research on emerging environmental issues, regulations, and technologies.
Support the team in developing policies, procedures, and best practices for environmental management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
A Master's degree is a plus but not required.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability principles, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and software is an advantage.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret environmental data and generate meaningful insights.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex environmental issues clearly to a range of audiences.
Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and across departments.
Attention to Detail:
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling data, reports, and regulatory documentation.
Problem Solving:
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing environmental challenges.
Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with environmental management software (e.g., ArcGIS, environmental reporting tools) is an asset.
