Job Overview Jensen Hughes is one of Australia's largest fire safety engineering consultancies. We have consulting offices located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth and fire resistance and reaction to fire test capabilities at our Melbourne test laboratory. As an engineering consultant, you will be involved in providing advice and recommendations to clients on the fire safety of their building projects. Your role will be to work with clients to understand their problems, develop solutions and implement them in practical ways. This role will expose you to a diverse range of projects and clients, offering you the opportunity to gain practical experience and knowledge across a variety of industries. You will work alongside experienced engineers and be provided with mentoring and support to grow your skills and career.

As a new graduate, working as an engineering consultant will allow you to continually develop your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and development opportunities. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your work, collaborate with colleagues and participate in a team environment. Responsibilities Undertake fire safety engineering analysis, fire and evacuation modelling, risk assessment and site visits / inspections under supervision to evaluate fire safety of buildings and infrastructure Preparation of reports Liaise with clients and design teams and discuss / negotiate with the fire brigades and approval authorities Participation in site and final inspections Contribute positively to an enjoyable and productive team environment, consistent with Jensen Hughes values Requirements and Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess

University engineering undergraduate degree or higher Strong analytical and problem-solving skills The ability to write clear and concise reports The ability to work within a team environment Prior knowledge of the National Construction Code – Building Code of Australia is an advantage but not required Prior knowledge and proficiency with computer-based fire and evacuation models is an advantage but not required Should be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or holding a valid Work Visa in Australia Why you should join Jensen Hughes Our company's great culture makes it a truly special place to work.
