About the role Based at our Newstead office, the Graduate Engineer will learn through directly supporting the Chief Engineer in undertaking their role.
Thoroughly supported by a team of skilled engineers carrying out a variable and extensive work program, the Graduate Engineer will participate in engineering projects and project components that require professional engineering oversight/input and providing engineering advice/support to the Chief Engineer where necessary.
Key responsibilities of this role are: Undertaking computer simulations to assess the performance and suitability of vehicles access to particular road assets.Conducting research and analysing complex data, issues and trends related to heavy vehicles and road infrastructure.Contributing to the development of the Office of the Chief Engineer's project initiatives, technical oversight and daily operations.Contributing to reports and technical discussion papers using plain English to ensure complex ideas are effectively communicated, understood and implemented.Assessing innovative vehicle proposals, such as new agricultural combinations.About You To be successful in this role you will possess:
Be a recent Engineer Graduate within the last 2 years.Hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferably) or mechatronics, electrical or chemical engineering degree.Have demonstrated ability to understand and apply vehicle dynamics principles.Have demonstrated capability of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, programming and analysis skills.Have experience with coding (advantageous).Be solutions-focused and have a "think outside of the box" type of mindset.Why join us?
